With Kotaro Matsu, President of Tokyo Braze Co., Ltd., again a recognized expert in brazing technology has been honoured for his contributions to the further development of this technology and networking in the "brazing community".

Every three years, since 2010, the Erich-Lugscheider-Award is granted at the International Conference on Brazing, High Temperature Brazing and Diffusion Welding.

The prize honours outstanding personalities who have significantly contributed to international networking and the exchange of knowledge in brazing technology, as Prof. Lugscheider demonstrated in an exemplary manner.

The former employees of Prof. Lugscheider at RWTH Aachen University, Dr.-Ing Manfred Boretius and Dr.-Ing. Harald Krappitz, initiated this award, endowed with prize money of € 5,000. Sponsors of the award are Listemann Technology AG, Innobraze GmbH and the German Welding Society (DVS).
