By vacuum brazing materials of different hardness can be joined. Brazed joints are known for high strength, even at elevated service temperatures.

For many years cutting and grinding tools with hard metal, cBN or diamond are fabricated by contract brazing. Proprietary developments in special brazing alloys and designed grit distribution enable customized properties. Arrangement and tool design remain know-how of the tool manufacturer.
