It happens June 2, 1999. Former management of the Listemann AG, represented by Peter Listemann and Dr. Manfred Boretius, signed a purchase agreement, which was negotiated with the Sulzer Metco AG in Wohlen/CH.
Object of purchase was the former heat treatment department of the Sulzer Metco AG in Oberwinterthur/CH. From July 1, 1999 on the services brazing in vacuum and protective gas atmosphere as well as vacuum heat treatment have been carried on as a part of the Listemann AG.
Within 10 years this entity has been developed to a Europe-wide acknowledged, professional service provider in thermal process technology. Under the management of Bernard Kuntzmann and Manfred Boretius the new technologies gasnitriding and nitrocarburizing, sintering of MIM-parts, thermal spraying and electron beam welding were introduced successively. The production area was doubled and production equipment was expanded significantly in terms of performance and capacity.
New challenging projects resulted in a continuous growth. Today drilling tools, heat treated by Listemann, are digging under the Gotthard the longest railway tunnel of the world. In all famous skiing areas ski-lifts are operating with shafts gas-nitrided by Listemann. Thousands of flight passengers trust in reliable and powerful engines which contain parts brazed, heat treated, coated or electron beam welded by Listemann. In the helicopter EC135 injured persons enjoy an especially convenient flight due to a system which elements are subject to a special heat treatment at Listemann. Last but not least fuel tanks made of titanium annealed by Listemann, enable satellites in space to stay in the designated orbit.
